This is my first Rina Kent book to have read and I plan on reading the rest of the Legacy of God's series.
For both the first book of hers I've read and the first book in the series, it wasn't too bad! Obviously there are flaws in the book that had me rethinking my choices, especially in the early chapters (iykyk) but overall I thought that the plot would be more dark - it's more centered around the trope of a dark romance than the whole book being a dark themed - so I was a little disappointed that the book didn't take it a little further.
Unfortunately I just couldn't get myself to like the FL Glyndon King, I think maybe I've read too many romances or the character was just generic, I can't make up my mind on which one it is - she's just too predictable with her character to literally nearly everything she says in every chapter, I mean even the love interest Killian calls her a broken record multiple times.
Not sure if I'll come back to this novel soon, but I'm hoping the second book in the series will be a little better!
Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

This book literally just tore my heart apart, this battle they're all facing is really showing the consequences not just for the students but for the pros and civilians as well - no one is safe and there have been casualties on all sides, and the author does a great job at showing the heartbreak and disaster, whether it be emotional or physical.
But overall this felt more like a filler book than but still essential, I would've liked more but I guess that's what the next volume is all about!

I saw a clip of this booktok and thought it was cute, and it was at the time.
But then I actually read the book.
It felt like a book straight out of Wattpad and I wouldn't be surprised if it was. I understand this book is made for the younger reader but even if I was ten years younger and read the book, I still wouldn't understand the appeal.
Especially with the lying, I hate someone who can easily lies, and that was the main theme of this book, the only reason I finished this book was for main male lead but even then after a certain point he was hardly in the book so I just read this book quickly to get it over with.
If you're a young person you'd love the romance and school aspect to it, everything else is up to you.
This book was read quickly, not because I enjoyed the plot per-say but because it was a book I received from my local library and I hate not handing books back in time.
The book definitely had it's charms, I especially loved the found-family trope it had as the main plot, but sometimes I found it hard to follow as the lore behind the book was sometimes too hidden or wasn't explained in a way I fully understood.
The only characters I really loved were Kissen, Skedi & Inara. I really didn't like Elogast, as a knight I'd expected more from him but his whole place in the book felt more like dragging a child along more than anything else.
Despite my criticisms, the book was enjoyable to read and I would definitely recommend it to friends and family to read, whether I read the next book in the series is another question I do not yet know the answer to.
I read this first years ago but I am just re-reading this volume for the sake of remembering what happened while the anime is still releasing its episodes weekly.
I still enjoyed the read and can't wait for both more anime episodes and mangas that will follow the story!
This volume in particular stays very true to the style of the original fairy tale series in both its art and story style!
It also includes a translation guide at the end of the volume to show why the translators went with the decisions for the book for fans to read which I found very interesting!
This book took me forever and a day to read, this felt like more of a filler book than anything else.
The only real love I had for this book was Nesryn's story and Yrene's.
I never really liked Chaol in the first place even before the whole drama with Aelin a few books back, he just seemed too entitled and too stuck up, I only really got this book because Sarah J Maas was doing a book tour signing at the time!
The book tour signing was a great experience I just wish the book was as well.
I never have anything bad to say about this manga, it's definitely one of my favourites.
The only criticism I have with this volume is that there weren't more chapters!! It feels like there could have been a lot more interactions between all the characters, but I'm sure there'll be more in the upcoming volumes!
I started reading this manga after watching episode 8 of the anime because I couldn't wait for the next episode - and it's definitely held up to expectation!
I feel like in a lot of young romance manga/anime's they show the falling in love but not the effort it actually takes to be in a relationship, especially when it comes to staying over the night and showing simple bits of affection, which this manga portrays so effortlessly and perfectly!!
It's probably the only manga/anime I know of that shows a good adult relationship and gives younger readers a better view of future relationships they may have, if they have not or are currently in their first relationship.
As sad as it is, I absolutely love this version of Deku - it's a refreshing take on his character as we all know that Deku saw everything so black & white in the world, and now it has been altered slightly so that he is still the hero we all love but he's capable of becoming so much more.
I hate how All Might's being portrayed though, it seems like the author is gearing up something absolutely awful to happen to him and I don't like it. If All Might dies I will riot, all All Might wanted to do was help Deku!!! 😭😭💔
Also the whole team up with the Big 3 is so unexpected but so cool!! Could you imagine how it would be if they were all at full power? There'd be no stopping them!!
