OH MY GOLLY GOSH. what a book. although it was a longer book than i tend to read i was turning the pages and chewing through the chapters like crazy. the characters were so real, so loveable. this book broke my heart, made me laugh, cry and then left me feeling a lil warm and fuzzy. didn’t know if i’d like it cause i don’t like gaming and it’s kinda about gaming but it was bloody good. (i don’t wanna spoil it)

really loved getting back into reading again from this book. i think eileen was my fav character and i found alice to be VERY relatable. however, i didn’t like her relationship with felix (i think he’s an asshole). i loved rooneys attention to detail in this book and her beautiful depiction of simple, everyday items/tasks.

WHAT THE HELL WAS THIS BOOK. i am left questioning a lot. this book was a lot. i was not prepared. it is so patriarchal with themes of white supremacy and sexism. although i was more scared of the book (LOL), i really enjoyed its messaging and complexity.

as a girlie who doesn’t tend to go for the whole ‘inspiring’ or ‘self-help’ book route, this was a great read. my parents bought be this book in the hopes that it would calm my cronic anxiety and i found that it did give me some perspective. not saying this book will miraculously cure you of all existentialism, but it may just give you some insight into actually how to live for yourself and away from constant fear.

i do love oscar wilde. he is a literary genius who continues to amaze me. this poetry collection is a great way to break up my novel reading and although i haven’t gone through EVERY poem i am still enjoying it. some poems i like more than others obviously but overall it’s a big YES from me.

okay i was recommended this book and as i girlie who enjoyed heartstopper i thought i would give it a go. this book seems to be fairly slow paced which i didn’t like as there was not a lot keeping me reading. i wasnt motivated to finish the book yet i did. i do like tori and think that she is relatable, messy, and like many of us protective of ourselves and our inner dialogues. i didn’t dislike the book but it wasn’t my favourite.

okay look. this was one of my fav books as a young teen so i reread it. yes it’s fun, yes it’s lighthearted, yes it’s cutesy and teeny but i did NOT enjoy my reread of it. i was bored, it was predictable (even tho i have read it). safe to say i think my taste has evolved and i am fine with that to be honest.

this book was a great way for me to get back into reading (thank you g for lending it to me <3). i was obsessed with the relationship between patti and robert. they grew up together and through all their changes, remained close. i don’t think i could have gone through what they went through and still be the way that they are. beautiful book about artistry, lower class struggle, finding yourself and growing up. AH LOVED IT!
