This book made me cry for days.

Both Luke and Irina deserved to go to jail— they both deserved what happened to them, but somehow, for me as the reader, I don't think it’s enough. They deserve to suffer more and spend eternity in hell.

I somehow love how the author conveys a message that loving ourselves doesn't literally equate to unloving everyone around us, and also by surrounding ourselves with the right people will make everything light. This book also made me realize that we should learn to love, trust, and appreciate oneself to have a better view in life.

This was recommended by booktok. For the most part, I enjoyed it, but I am sorry— Thorne was practically giving nothing in this book. Yes, he is relevant to the plot but his presence in this book was just ✨ unnoticeable ✨ even though he appeared in most chapters. But, I will definitely read the second book (if there is one) because of the cliffhanger.

All the struggles and hardships Solene went through throughout her journey in this book were worth it. Solene is a brave character, and I adore her for that. It's just sad that her mother killed herself just for her (Solene) to move forward. Many will probably have mixed opinions about this, but I actually think that Duke’s reason was valid, but his actions and words were not. The characters are obviously flawed because there are times I get annoyed by their unjustifiable actions (mostly Solene, Duke, & Mitzie), but it’s okay! It’s actually one of the most interesting parts of the book; to see the characters in the book develop and grow. This book was a decent read. It was entertaining for the most part. 👍

Even though the plot of a "marriage of convenience" has been used by many authors and no longer stands out, I still loved everything about this book. The plot was cliché — BUT I LOVE CLICHÉS! I love Dante, I love Vivian, I love everyone—except for Vivian’s parents, though, I am sorry.

I adore the premise of this book and its characters, yet at times, I find myself perplexed while reading. While I appreciate the writing style, certain words and phrases feel overly intricate or awkwardly expressed, making it challenging for me to grasp their meaning. Fortunately, the tension and curiosity between the two main characters are evident! I adore books that have such evident tension that it leaves me breathless. Therefore, I'm going to give this book a four-star rating because I found it enjoyable for the most part.

I love this book since I am a sucker for Beauty and the Beast retellings, but I am sorry... I really can't feel the ✨romance✨ between the main characters—though there are some parts where they are romantic and caring towards each other, most of the time they just talk like they just met each other. I thought it was going to have a love triangle trope, but it didn't (THANK GOD). Also, when I first read this book, I was honestly confused about who the ML was, even though it was already obviously stated in the story’s description. No offense to Rhen, but I actually feel more tension between Harper & Grey. But overall, this book is nice.
