Really good writing and passages I really liked (homoerotic friendship) but it was kind of easy for me to feel lost bc it’s a little stream of consciousness-y and there are no chapters or good stopping points and I ended up putting it down/ picking it up a lot and taking forever to finish it but that’s on me frankly. It started to click for me on this recent time I started it again and actually finished it. Good book.

Interesting premise with okay writing. I thought it was going to be like real time takes place in one day based on the description but it was like 70% flashback which I found a little less interesting. The split perspective thing also cool in theory but I ended up being kinda bored by the husband perspective and found the wife more compelling. His character and their dynamic as a couple didn’t come together really well until the ending which was quite good. Fine book👍

Yay it’s good he really plays with format and his writing style per how the character at hand would speak/write and it’s all very captivating and entertaining and serves the stories well

It doesn’t help that the fabulous movie adaptation exists but the quirkiness came through over text I appreciated seeing how they pulled that off.
Also the epilogue just revealing that the whole book was a lie is so crazy I couldn’t tell if I loved it or hated it I think it’s pretty interesting though I don’t think he did it for no reason

So funny and dry I love her voice. And so vintage New York so I’m quite fond of it.
