Did not finish book. Stopped at 4%.
The way Jiang Liu treats his mom is a real turn-off at first, but I was willing to push through, but then he starts relentlessly flirting with a woman he's meeting to discuss certain astronomical findings, treating her like a romantic object rather than a colleague. I was astonished that a woman wrote such casual misogyny.

This was an uncomfortable book, but I was able to buy into it until the end, which felt somewhat rushed compared to the pace of the rest.

As cute as this was, I prefer when couples in romances have to face external conflicts together rather than have conflict between each other.

This is one of the best books I've read recently. It was a take on dragons I've never seen before and it made use of fantasy to shine a light on real historical issues (not that I'm taking a steampunk fantasy with dragons for an historical reference, but it's inspired me to do my own research into the history it's based on).
