I fucking loved this. This book didn't end the way I thought it would at the beginning. Well, the only thing I probably predicted is Miranda and AJ. Sorry, Joseph, honey, but you were in the way from the moment those two met. Talking about Joseph: I felt so damn conflicted about his character for most of the book. At times, I kind of hated him, but then again, not completely, because he had some great influences on Jane, for example. AND I WAS JUST SO FUCKING CONFUSED. But, like, in a good way. I was supposed to be confused and frustrated, because it made the big reveal that much more satisfying. Beth O’Leary masterfully spun these three stories together. And then I found out they happened on three separate timelines. Hell, I was so happy everything paid off, and that I finally had my explanation, and it was better than anything I’d come up with. I ended up feeling so much for Joseph and rooting for him, something I thought impossible at the beginning of the novel. I fucking loved all three main characters. I loved Siobhan, I loved Miranda, I loved Jane. My heart broke when I learned of what happened to Siobhan. Fucking Richard. Also, regarding what he did to Jane: what a fucking dick.
I was so intrigued by this novel that I read way too late into the night. I just had to know how it ended. I just really liked it. I love Beth O’Leary. It was worth every damn euro I spent on it.
