Gilded Serpent by Danielle L Jensen

5 ⭐️

Each book in this series is better than the last. The first two books introduce us to the 4 main characters and POVs for this book. It picks up in the appropriate place in the timeline for both Teriana and Marcus as well as Lydia and Killian.

Jensen artfully switches between the various POVs, keeping the reader engaged in the story and throwing mini cliffhangers as the book progresses.

The dual plot lines follow Lydia and Killian in Moudaire and Teriana and Marcus in Arinoquia. Each couple faces their own challenges after winning battles in their respective regions. The four of them battle a lot with their inner thoughts and emotions regarding their situations as well as the feelings developing for their respective counterparts.

The plot lines of this book kept me at the edge of my seat constantly and my heart absolutely breaking over some of the altercations between the couples. The twists in the plot have not been as predictable as in some other novels plus the cliffhanger in both groups has me desperate for the final book of the series, which at this time doesn’t even have a release date.

If you haven’t read The Dark Shores series, enjoy closed door spice, and a fast-paced series, you should definitely read it!
