Oh wow, what a read! The quality of the plot twists, the myriad emotions portrayed, the role of each character, everything was unbelieveable - the book just seamlessly brings everything together and connects every dot to perfectly conclude this story. And omg, after enduring a rather unpleasant and annoying romance for almost two and half books, Clare just brings in a mind-blowing twist that just had me dumbfounded. But yeah, I'm still not convinced if the pain I had to go through to get here was worth it. Regardless, this book itself is an excellent read undoubtedly.

For some reason I didn't enjoy this book as much as City of Bones. Not sure if it was my mood which wasn't very good over the last week, or the book itself. The plot was interesting but I did not really get hooked. Found the romance between Clary and Jace a little annoying. But the plot was really good. Great ending too. Eager to see how Clare takes it forward.

Wonderful read. Found it boring and difficult to get hooked initially but the story progresses fast and had nice twists to it. The last few pages however were just mind-blowing and had me at the edge of the seat. I really loved the world-building as well. An undoubtedly fantastic start to the series that will leave you wanting to read the rest of the books.

Such a gripping read. Medium to fast-paced and intense. The book explores the famous debate of religion vs Science very well and is not a light read. The facts were blended so perfectly into the story that they don't feel boring or unnecessary at all while adding a lot of context and depth to the plot. There were so many consecutive chapters that ended with a cliffhanger across multiple locations , which literally gave me goosebumps. Also, had to look up like 100s of words LOL.
