Great representation with a more mature FMC and a Korean-dragon shifter MMC! Fated mates who had to take the long route are faced with the additional challenge of saving the world and their family from an unhinged antagonist. Lots of good spicy scenes, the man loves a good southern meal! A very sweet HEA tugs at the heartstrings too.

The Trollkin series continues to be amazing. This story, in my opinion, is one of the darker ones. It has Gladiator x Outlander vibes and our MCs have to fight through some pretty brutal experiences to get to their HEA. There are moments of lightness and humor and plenty of spice to get you through it! Lyonne does and amazing job with TWs. And if you're turned off my pregnancy trope warnings, give this one a chance. I hate preg tropes and this one was, dare I say, very sweet and well done!!

This was a super cute, medium length read that I could not put down. Just the right amount of angst and spice for a few cozy nights in. I would call the MMC more of a grumpy cinnamon roll than a traditional grump.... which is frankly my favorite kind of grumpy MMC. The FMC was the perfect balance of sassy, confident, and angsty. I love the accidental summoning and HEA. There is *SPOILER* a bit of a third act break-up BUT it's not a traditional one and I like the author's take on the trope and it worked well for the story! There was also a good amount of character development for both the FMC and the MMC as they learned to work through their traumas and flaws. And the antagonists get their just desserts in the end, too!
