I really enjoyed the fat representation which is why it got 3 stars and not 2. It was pretty slow most of the book that then everything suddenly happens in the last couple chapters with not enough build up. I know it’s a short book but there definitely could have been more build up.

Overall a surprisingly book first book. The world building is really good. The characters are well rounded with distinct personalities. The cliff hanger is good, I’m excited to get stuck into the next book. I have absolutely no idea what to expect and I love that.

I’m not sure what I expected but this was not it. The only other Ali Hazelwood book I’ve read is Love on the Brain which I absolutely loved. My favourite genre is fantasy so I thought I might enjoy this book. The first half of the book is totally unmemorable, the world build is lax at best and twists were extremely predictable. Also I just wasn’t feeling the chemistry between the main characters.
