This book is like the film ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ but if the main cast was aged a couple decades and was set in Mexico City. It was also very informative on movie making and the process that goes into it, and all the extra work that happens once the filming is finished. I wouldn’t call it a horror book, more like a dark fantastical thriller which sucks you in with defined characters and their flaws.

If you have ever thought about what it means to love someone, romantically, platonically, in any way you think you should, could, or want too, you should read this book.
This book is about loved ones, specifically focused on mother and daughters, women and girls, and all of the experiences and feelings that come with loving and living. Its about knowing and not knowing loved ones, if you need to know someone to love them, and that everyone, absolutely everyone, will not view someone the same, will not have the same experiences, memories, and artifacts from a loved one.
There is so much I could say about this book, but hopefully this is enough for you to read it and love it like I have.
“We will always only have a half knowledge of each other. But this doesn’t mean we must experience a half loving, or that the love we’ve been given was incomplete. Knowing someone and loving them are not the same thing.”
“For now it’s enough not to describe or dissect. The whirring of wings will someday cease or persist, either way. Without wonder or worry she can carry on either way.”
