This book may have me in a choke hold for a while. When AJ Nicole said that the MMC was based off of Elijah Mikaelson I had to read this. She did an absolutely amazing job giving Rivian that same love for a character at I did Elijah.
Now this book is dark so be sure to read the trigger warnings please before reading. The tension between the FMC and the MMC is absolutely electric. There's so many quotes that I want to leave but I don't want to spoil those moments for anyone.
Be prepared to buy the next book because this book is so good. If I did have to work, take care of children, eat, or sleep I probably would have finished this book a lot sooner.

This book started out slow but got better as it went on. Definitely get more attachments to the characters in this book than compared to the first book. All I'm going to say is I destroyed my stress ball by the end of this book it had me so mad. I need to get my hands on the next book ASAP.

This book has a very interesting magic system with a mix of astrology and Greek mythology. It brings in the concept of the gods at war and the mortals caught in the crossfire. The FMC is unaware of the world and brought into this world.
If you into a quick read with all the basic YA book tropes, this is the book for you. It was a great read for a palette cleanser in-between intense series.
