The Sixth Lie is a terrific follow up to The Birthday Girl. I love the main character, Mallory Dawson and the fact that this is a series! This book is atmospheric and full of secrets & twists. It definitely seals Sarah in as a must read author in my book.

I loved In My Dreams I Hold A Knife & Midnight Is The Darkest Hour. Unfortunately, this book just was not for me. The sexual violence was too much for me.
Y’all know that I love a good gothic novel & @ashleywinsteadbooks’ newest novel does not disappoint! I loved the setting of rural Louisiana and Ashley really nails the rural southern Bible Belt vibe. The main character, Ruth, is obsessed with the Twilight series, even though she is the daughter of the town’s extremely strict Southern Baptist pastor. The town is terrified of the local legend, The Low Man, who is a vampire that enters sinner’s bedrooms at night and kills them. Is this rural LA town being terrorized by a vampire or is something more terrifying occurring?!
I’ll be honest, at first I was concerned because I’m not a fan of the Twilight series; however, I ended up being a huge fan of this book! I highly recommend this book, especially if you are a fan of southern gothic fiction.
