This was a thoroughly enjoyable book. DCI Foster is a great character but the twists and turns kept me entertained throughout. The style of writing is really great, third person POV and realistic crimes made this an easy read.

What a great book! I love the work of C.J Tudor, I find their work to be super intriguing and keep me guessing. The best part of a story is putting the pieces together, but somehow she keeps just enough information till the end of the book to keep everything a surprise. I hope they write more, I look forward to every story

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and read it in just one day. The plot was too good for me to put it down. The best part is every single question and theory is pulled together nicely in the end, nothing is left unanswered so it’s a satisfying read.

I’m so happy I finally read this book. Alice in Wonderland is my favourite franchise and many spinoff novels focus on Alice herself or variations of her character. It was lovely to read of the Queen of Hearts and she’ll always be one of my favourite characters, especially with this backstory. I absolutely loved this book, I felt for the storyline and feel the ending perfectly demonstrated how she became the queen we know.

What a book! Picked this up for a holiday read and so glad I did, the book was a perfect recipe of suspense, mystery, and tension, all of which made me never want to put it down. I can’t say that I saw any of the plot coming and so found the book very enjoyable.

Such a lovely book, read in just one day, absolutely loved it. I almost wish it was longer, the characters are so loveable that I wish to know more about the mad women, perhaps more about Augustine or Louise. If there was a sequel on the lives of the women i’d certainly read it. However the story itself, while short, did tell a lovely tale about a woman who can see spirits.

I read this book as I love an Alice in Wonderland themed novel and having read the first I chose to continue the small series. While the book was easy to read and took me no more than two days to finish, the story at some points I felt could’ve shown more of a fight between Alice and her counterparts. It felt the story built up to the confrontation for it to be over so quickly. Be advised this story does differ from the original tale, a point of view I very much enjoyed, but does have some graphic details and mentions of rape and similar topics.
