Summary:
Rue's supposed-to-be-one-and-done-never-see-him-again tinder date turns out to be with the company trying to take over the current company she works at, and she's having a hard time with all of this and all of the feels.

Thoughts:
Low key mad I liked this book so much. It's honestly a really cute story, there's just so many weird quirks with the writing. It's written in both 1st person (FMC) and 3rd person (MMC), so flow is clunky between chapters. The trope spaghetti was thrown at the wall in the hopes that something sticks. There's Hockey Romance, Office/work romance, nerd/brainy romance, and kind of enemies/rivals to lovers (but they never really hated each other) all wrapped up in one big trope meatball. Surprisingly, it somehow still turned out really good? Idk. I have feels and they're not all bad.

A chronological history of the occult explained in a sucient and easy to follow way. The audio book is really good and the physical copy is gorgeous. Best experience would be a tandem read w/ audio + print.

Very Pirates of the Caribbean but with a magical fae twist. The MMC goes through a lot of growth in this one and the FMC is right there to help him through. Romance is a bit of a tense simmer that explodes in the last few chapters. It gets HOT, and keeps burning right to the end. This is my first intro to this world so I did find the world building a bit confusing (If you've read the other books from this world you may find it less confusing). It has a solid plot though, and I was able to understand enough that it was still an enjoyable read. The ending was brutal and you'll probably want to pick up the Ever Queen right after - so just go ahead and get both if you're thinking about it lol.

I really enjoyed this one! It's high fantasy and a complex magic system squished into about 120 pages so the world building can feel a bit info dumpy at times. However, I loved this world and it's systems and it was easy to get captivated by this story. Pretty standard tropes with some good tension between the MCs. I did find the relationship between the MMC and FMC a bit disturbing. Storms treatment of Feylin throughout this story made me cringe and Feylin did appear a bit desperate for his attention. I'm not sure what the redemption arc for the MMC will be but I'm locked in and here for it and eagerly awaiting the next installment.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is a collection of 3 books and spans 3 different POVs (Delilah, Cody + Marcus). The twists in this book were jaw droppingly unexpected. Marcus had been such a mystery in all the previous books in this world so finally getting his story here was so satisfying. Didn't think I'd be pro-Marcus prior to this series but here we are!
