I’m dying to review this book but in solidarity I am withholding my review as a part of the publisher boycott.

I wanted to like this, I loved the first two books, I love olivie blake it hurts me to rate this so low. It took me like 20 days to read it (long for me) and I just found it to be disappointing and anticlimactic. If there was a point to anything that happened I missed it. Thematically I think different choices would’ve been more powerful.
Like Libby sacrificing herself for Nico, or all of them dying, at least the ones doing the sinister plot
idk just not what I wanted.

That being said, I am planning to read everything else I haven’t read by olivie Blake because I do love every other book I’ve read by her and I love her writing. This was just a flop for me.

I want to write a longer review but I stayed up too late reading so for now I’ll just say I found this book to be exquisite.  Being in Enid’s head felt like being in my own which was comforting and suffocating and liberating all at once. I can definitely understand that this book won’t be for everyone but for the folks it is for it’ll hit hard.
It’s for you if you’re queer and mentally ill and neurodivergent and have had a true-crime-podcast-binging-as-comfort-media phase and have wondered how good for you that actually is.

I read this bc the cover was giving me unhinged female character a la bunny or myor&r with the hot pink and because I had Lucy dacus’ Night Shift stuck in my head when I found it in the bookstore so I thought it was a sign. I was mistaken. I found this book to be desperately unfulfilling and I like most of the books I read. Maybe I wasn’t in the right mood for it but there are better books exploring unhealthy and messy female relationships that do it better imo. Wasn’t my cup of tea to say the least but I feel like if you’re in a messy self destructive obsessive girlboss era it might appeal?

Alix E Harrow wasn’t joking when she said that you’ll love Nona and Nona loves you. This book was amazing, as per usual when reading a book by Tamsyn Muir. I loved Nona so much I almost forgot how much I missed Gideon and Harrow (I remembered when I immediately started Gideon upon finishing Nona). Can’t wait for everyone to meet Nona and fall in love with her like I have.
