I liked this alot , it was slow going but in a realistic way , especially when it comes to growing friendships and feelings. I do have some problems with it though
I was alright with Cas until the mf turned into a predator for a idk?? some gotcha moment towards Dev? like it came so out of left field , him showing up with a FOURTEEN YEAR OLD TO HOMECOMING AND HOLDING HER WAIST?? I know this happens alot in real life but there shouldve been a bigger proble  addresses with that. He should've gotten stomped out for that wtf. And the way he dropped the fact that he knew Dev liked him was so cruel , I'm not surprise  they didnt talk it out since she mentioned they avoided confrontations before. I truly hope thats a friendship that ended bc the mf was WEIRD.

On the other hand Foster was a sweetheart,  a super smart kid going through a tough time , thankfully surrounded by people who care about him. Dev's wake up call being him was nice to see , as someone who takes care of my niece sometimes , kids younger than you can really shake you into action and I'm glad to see that with her. She grew in the end and stood true to herself while doing it. I kinda want a sequel but I understand these are one of those books you gotta let sit by itself.

Adele stressed me out to no end. There wasn't a single decision she made that didn't have me yelling at the pages and having to put it down outta stress & nerves. Spoilers ahead
I feel like it was INCREDIBLY DANG OBVIOUS that the Tom kid was not human. I also think the momma should've caught onto that immediately,  the merchants were dead for a good day or so and ain't no way the kid would survive that long on their on in the dark woods

Every choice was selfish , now she's a child who just learned about an extremel  dangerous destiny , which was why i was willing to give her a chance. But I didnt feel like she grew by the end of the book at all. In the beginning she made some sense to me , thinking that her lover would understand & the stress of the situation ,  but I could tell during one of their convos that he was definitely not the right choice. I understand it's hard to forget love , but peoples life's were on the line here. And don't get me wrong , I don't agree with the Max option either. Idc about the time period , she's 16 & he's 19. It was really unnecessary to have the age gap. Besides the gap , morally he's just a stupid as herm I can't even call it being morally grey,  because they both had very open moral codes just for them to suddenly?? Not? I understand, maybe plot-wise , why Adele would suddenly not , but Max made no sense. All of it happened way too fast

My thoughts on the ending echos some others , it came really fast and unexpectedly. I thought there'd be a second book by the way it ended but there isn't, maybe in the future? This book isn't HORRIBLE , I just can't find it in me to like it.

I'll admit that I came into this book with low expectations , because of booktoks habit of hyping up books with sex scenes in them regardless If they're actually good books are not, But this one? This one was amazing. I don't think there's really a single part of this book where I wasn't satisfied with the way it went.

I love the way the romance was handled. I love the way the book doesn't try to toss in a whole bunch of sports information when it's not necessary for this story.  I love the communication my god I love the communication , it's very rare to see in romance books. I love the friendships, Love the non toxic sports friend group , They were gonestly one of the best parts of the story without overpowering the main couple.  I fell in love with everyone,  especially Henry , hopefully we get a book on him. I love how the FL's friendships and problems were handled. Her inner monolgue perfectly portrayed someone who had a therapist and I love that.
my one gripe would be that I wish they'd adopted like she planned , that would've been really sweet story wise considering her back<\spoiler>

And the sex scenes? Extremely detailed but great to read .  Not cringey at all to me . And consent !!! with full communication throughout!! So rare to see sometimes.

Read the book. If you were on the fence about this story , I swear to you you'll enjoy it in some form. High praise to the author , can't wait to start on the next book in the series.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 3%.
I do not like the way its written at all. I don't have a problem with first person POVs , this? it's very Wattpad story cringey and i grew up reafing wattpad books , this is just not what I'd expect from a published author. Sorry just couldn't last with this one

A heart wrenching but beautiful book about the relationships between people. I would rate it higher but the age difference ( 17 to 20 ) between the couple owning the cafe when they started dating makes me uncomfortable so take that into consideration.

The world is divided into those who have felt pain and those who have not. Michelle and I fit into the former,  so I supposed that's why I had to put my phone done a few times to brawl my eyes out. Losing a parent is stressful,  it's hard and it breaks you and forces you to rebuild yourself into a person they will at least semi recognize.

At one point I wasn't quite sure if I could finish this book , it hurt to remember my own pain , but it was cathartic to read and I glad I didn't give up.

This is a beautiful book. Mrs. Zauner , I hope you find more and more happiness in H Mart.

I wont lie , the book made me cry alot near the end. This was beautiful,  not in a breathing way , but in a contentment type of way. It helped me think alot about my own thoughts on my hometown

Most of my review will have spoilers so :
I liked this book alot more than I thought I would . My only problem was I really didn't see any signs of it being Brooke's fault that Paige died before the reveal came?? I mean the clues that led up to it made since when it was stated plainly so maybe I just missed it lol
