I adore this. Nathan and Vlad are adorable together and I love how the author really took the time to develop their relationship before bringing in Ursula to the mix. The constant rise in tension in the background as you hear about revolts and the blight is superb. I truly cannot wait to see what happens in the next book.

I really wish I could rate this higher. The lack of communication in this book is incredibly frustrating. The plot wildly shifts at random points to smut so scenes rarely build in tension. The main character is so incredibly unlikable. She can't seem to decide on if she actually wants the male lead around or not and spends 85% of the book saying "I hate him" while sleeping with him every other chapter. The author would introduce plot points early on but take most of the book to get any further development. I truly only finished this for spite.
