Look, I am a HUGE Chloe Liese stan but this one was not for me. The constant talk about the MMC’s past with other women took me out of the story every time

I wanted to like this one but it just fell flat for me. I love romances with complex emotions, such as the grief and anxiety in this book, but it just didn’t flow well together. Miscommunication was such a large plot point that it became redundant. It is one of my least favorite tropes, which likely influences my rating. Overall, this just was not the book for me. I think others would enjoy it, and would still be interested in reading more within this hockey universe.

Did not finish book.
I wanted to love this one so bad, especially with such a beautiful cover and an interesting story. But it felt like the author was just constantly telling me things and it felt choppy. With fantasy in particular, I want to be shown the world you are building, not just jump from one thing to the next with no real explanation or description. Maybe I’ll try to read this one another day but it was not the book for me in this moment.

Very excited to see how the rest of this series plays out! Not my absolute favorite but it had me hooked from the beginning.

I really wish this had been a full length novel. I think I would have liked it more had there been more content to it, especially since I LOVED the first one.
