Book 4 in the Masters of the Consulate series focuses on Master Romano and his escapades as he has his region in Romania. He's in the place where all of the witches claim as their home and territory, and has his work cut out for him.  Even though there were connections in other books in the series to witches, this book brings the interacting between the vampires and the witches to a new light. Master Romano of course falls in love with one of the witches, and has a HUGE decision to make. Will he choose live of a witch who is a clear representation of his enemy? Or will he stand form on his role as a Master of the vampire community? This book takes the reader through many more twists and turns and leaves you wondering what Master Romano will decide as he struggles with his own desires and his responsibility to the vampire community. The author has done an amazing job of crafting very detailed stories in each book of this series, making this a thought provoking read!

Master Trentino is book 3 in the series and as they all have this book starts right in the midst of action. Reading these books has felt like reading through a very visual television series or clips of a major motion picture! As you may have guessed, Master Trentino is another one of the vampire leaders, and while on a search for a threat to the vampires, he finds Angel. She is a beautiful woman, powerful in her own right, and he must know more about her. After their encounter he leaves, but returns to her later to find her fighting for her life. Master Trentino takes matters into his own hands and saves her by turning her into the very thing her family lineage despises. This book leads down another winding road of searching for the threats to the vampire community, those that are framing the vampires for abducting women. The traitors work hard by using witches, psychics and all of the other mythical creatures of their world. This book was very interesting to dig deep into the lives of Angel and Master Trentino, and to be reunited with the characters from books one and two was very nostalgic. This was a very interesting read!

The next book in this series does not disappoint! Master Tuscano is one of the leaders of the vampires and is in love with a human. Delilah was dated for by witches, and her credibility comes into question as she fought the desire to become a vampire. The leadership did not support Master Tuscano and her union, which devastated both him and his love, Delilah. This book takes you through their fought for and against each other, but is an amazingly written story that will keep you close to your device, page after page! I'm looking forward to the next chapter! The suspense has me held very tight!

This was a very fast paced book and full of action. I was interested in the story line from the very beginning, as if I jumped right into the story. The vampires are being accused of abducting women and Salvatore was not going to let the allegations continue without doing something about it. Then he meets this amazing detective and through some extenuating circumstances, she has to decide to become a vampire herself. The imagery in this book from the author makes this a great read. I enjoyed reading about the connection between Salvatore and Lucianna! I can't wait to read the next book!

This book was a great pleasure to read. At the beginning it seemed as if it would only be a self help book but with every short story I could feel my growth transcending to a higher height. I was emotional while reading this book, and felt this book was and it's very useful for my life. This is a book that is great for reference on the shelf! I think you'll really enjoy it and invite you to keep turning those pages! Great set of stories from a great author.

Ink and Intrigue was such a fun book to read as I am jumping back into my favorite things to do read!  I love a great mystery and this book does not disappoint. Ariadne is on task to complete her work as a journalist at a tough time in our past for women, during the late 1950s.  I love that the book is set in the past and is so very well written and gives me a glimpse into a time where I was not born yet.  Ariadne is almost ironically covering a royal wedding, but finds herself in a new setting when a body is found.  I watch investigative series all the time so when I realized that this was the path the book was going on I was so excited, them the author had me hooked with the style of writing. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the book which was so rewarding!  This is a great book and I really look forward to reading more from this author!

This book was REALLY well written. I loved reading the story of Barbara, and the note from the author in the beginning. The note was very thoughtful, as the author used the counsel of friends who would understand the life of a black woman in business from their perspective, and the author was very careful to share this from the start. Barbara is going through so many different changes in her life, and the author takes time to walk the reader through every trial! From a cheating fiance, to a canceled wedding, work woes, and all of this while being a black woman in a Caucasian male dominated industry. Not to mention the trials of meeting a new romantic partner while on vacation and returning to her own additional struggles with him. It's so much to deal with for her, or for anyone for that matter, that is almost hard to see how she can get out of it! Barbara will soon find out that the trials run deeper as the story continues. This book made me fall in love with the characters, and learn about their ability to face each challenge, and their failures. It was such a fun book to read! You won't be disappointed! I will definitely be reading more of the authors novels!

This book was a really fun exhilarating read for me. I did not have a chance to read books one and two, however, this book did not cause me to read the other books to understand the storyline. Learning about Finlay and her role in this story as an investigator, while she worked with law enforcement was eye opening. The setting in Paris of human trafficking felt so real as the author depicts each scene, filling me with suspense for the next moment. One of the best things about a mystery is the amount of suspense in each moment or scene. This book had me on the edge of my toes and quickly sparked a vivid imagination for every scene in this Shadowed Deception: A Psychological Suspense Thriller (Shadow Defense Security Series) by Mavery Ellscott – Review by book. I really enjoyed reading it and I enjoy the authors writing style.

This book was so good to start this series! I was completely engaged while reading it! With every chapter I was excited to keep reading. I love that there is clear depth to each character but the author does a great job at keeping your attention, and keeping everything connected between all of the very complex characters. I literally didn't want to put the book down! I love when I read fantasy books but you can still really relate to their issues, even though the book is created in some far away place.  I was so full of empathy for the main character from the very start of the book.  I kept being excited to see what would happen next. She's such a strong woman naturally, so it was empowering to read such a story about a string woman learning how to face her circumstances head on. I highly recommend this one!

This book was so much fun to read. It was tough to see all that happened to Julia, including all the loss she had to suffer while uric to rebuild. This was a really great sequel to book one. The author crafts some very interesting stories and I'm looking forward to reading more stories from the author in the future.
