I recently watched the film adaptation for the first time and loved it so much i had to pick this up from the library. It was definitely not what i expected coming from the movie but the differences were quite pleasant especially as those changes were spent getting to know the Owen's family and their relationships with one another (successfully made me wish I had a sister). I thought it was super charming and Alice Hoffman's writing/narration style is just so dreamy and magical <3
