I can't rate this because by the end, I had no idea what was going on.
Let me just say… that enema scene was the least sexy thing I have read in my LIFE.

This book left my mind so quickly I almost forgot I read it by the next day. I usually love simple, character driven stories but this did not enthrall me at all.

Maybe if I had a House M.D. kink I would’ve been more into Piers. He did nothing for me. He was fine. Linnet was also fine.

This serious has always been very hit or miss for me. Sadly, Zahara and Massimo were no Sienna and Drago.
There was no tension. Half of the book is rehashing the timeline of the previous one and then when Massimo gets out of prison,
he and Zara immediately get together
. It got repetitive to read his internal monologue being completely opposite to his actions.  All of the “we can’t”, "what will the family think" and “I can’t ruin her; she’s an angel.” No, she’s a person. A really boring one.

It's just a silly goofy time over here.
You think the story will grow stale since Amy falls in love at first sight but I truly could not predict the shenanigans Warren and her got up to.

Percy Jackson! That’s what this book reminds me of. With the sassy characters (but only in their own heads), monsters they outwit by just being smart, the unseriousness of the world as a whole. It’s Percy Jackson.
Which is probably why I struggled with it as an adult. It didn't grip me during a lot of parts. I think this book could’ve been half the length. It was too long.

I think this book caught me at a bad time. On a different day, it could’ve been 4/4.5 stars but for some reason, it just felt like a bunch of hockey romance tropes piled on top of each other.
Still well written and funny. Just the characters weren’t working for me.

“People fight when they’re afraid, is that not so? Isn’t that what you said?”
“That sounds like me.”
“But . . . you fight all the time.”
I just know Julie took a step back after writing that mic drop of a line and took the rest of the day off.
