I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy
5.0
Really thought provoking. A view at how those kind of mother/daughter relationships work and a real insight into Jeanette’s life that we didn’t know about as we grew up watching her on TV. Amazing read.
I’ve seen some reviews saying it’s very triggering and upsetting for people with eating disorders, but I think it was perfectly written for us to understand exactly what was going on in her mind at these times. She knows it was unhealthy but at the time she didn’t care. It was her life. It’s meant to be a difficult read.

Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur

Okay I’m giving it two stars because I do think there are some (not many) good quotes in there and I did enjoy the doodles
Olga Dies Dreaming by Xochitl Gonzalez

I thought it was a great story with great characters and great detail.
From start to finish it was well thought out.
However, I found the first 200-250 pages quite slow and it only really picked up in the last 100 pages.

Songs in Ursa Major by Emma Brodie

Songs in Ursa Major isn’t just a book about the sex and rock and roll of the 70s, it’s about the real life consequences of relationships and addiction.
I told myself if Jane ended up with Jesse, I’d downgrade it to a three star just out of bitterness. You only find out their ending in the last chapter as a magazine article. He married three times during his life, and not one of them were Jane and that was the best ending for me.
He got the help he needed and Jane was able to move on.
It was the perfect ending.

The Cat and The City by Nick Bradley

I was going back and forth with whether or not this was a 3 or a 4 star
I love when different chapters are different perspectives or different stories but I didn’t like that it switched between first and third person.
I loved the chaos and the different style each chapter had - with images towards the end, too.
