4.75
⭐⭐⭐⭐. 75
I gave Finale a 4.75 out of 5 stars, and I really enjoyed it. I was worried where the novel would go, especially when I hit the halfway mark, but I am happy with how it ended.
The reason I didn't give Finale 5 stars was due to Donatella's attempt at not letting something happen at the end of the novel. There was so much build up in Legendary and Finale for this very thing to happen, that just rubbed me the wrong was to see that she made a final, albeit halfhearted, attempt to prevent what happened from happening.
Finale goes between both Scarlett and Donatella's perspectives, and I preferred Scarlett's over Tella's. I preferred Scarlett over Tella a majority of the time likely due to Scarlett being more mature and responsible than Thella was in her chapters, but that doesn't mean that Tella's chapters were bad, I just preferred Scarlett as a character.
At the halfway mark, I was worried about how the plot was going to progress and how it would be resolved later. Stephanie did a really good job of tying up the loose ends and leave only a few questions left unanswered, but I am assuming those are due to the Once Upon A Broken Heart trilogy.
Overall, I really enjoy Finale and the Caraval series as a while. I put off reading this trilogy for around six months since I didn't know if I would enjoy a book that was described simply as being 'vibes', but I am very happy to say that I enjoyed them all.
