Though I did feel like the first half could be a bit of a slog (i could not care less about fight club but for girls </3 and I wasn't always up for the parody level critiques going on), the writing was great and the back half was well worth it. A great read if you've ever felt like a failure!

The writing was beautiful, and had really poignant moments (I especially loved Lena's POV, and
how M's recontextualized everything that had come before
). I'm reviewing this super late, and honestly I thought this book would stick with me more than it actually has. However, i AM a sucker for books that leave me with a feeling of heaviness more than any specific thoughts, so still one I'd recommend.

Loved the themes, loved the body horror & execution of that element, but didn't love the writing (or the audiobook narration, which was essentially acted like a villain explaining their evil plot the entire time). I think a younger me would have really loved this book.

I cannot follow this narrator -- just too flat for me. I will pick the collection back up in a different format later
