This is pretty hard to read. Each section talks about a particular place. And then talks about things that could happen to mitigate climate weirding in that place. Unfortunately most doesn't seem very realistic given current climate projections. But it's a beautiful book and full of interesting stories of place. Ise, Japan's section and discussion of climate and shintoism was particularly interesting.

This book isn't very good unless you want to read a long narrative story about the history of "obscene" books and magazine in USian culture, which I did not. Also I didn't know how much the male gaze could be put into written form, but here we are.

Fair warning I gave up about 25% in because I was so bored with the material and the writing style.
