This book is honestly a refreshing read. Moses tackles gang violence, and religious corruption but also humanizes young people who have a life on the streets in a way that the media doesn't, showing their trials, tribulations, hopes and their dreams

A brilliant YA story exploring real-life troubles of being black and young. However there was a lack of development for the only queer MC which really disappointed me.

Reading 'The three of us' made me feel like I was a scientist observing a social experiment; three individuals who clearly have no business being together but yet are constantly in the same room. Ore serves us an unusual band of characters on a plate, dishing us a taste of what it would feel like to be in a hate triangle instead of a love one.

This book is spiritual, paying homage to Jamaica and the migrants who fought for our rights in London and the rest of the UK. This book touches on love, loss, family and community.

Queer stories have my heart and Bryan takes a different angle and tells us a new story. I love his writing so much. Black queer men deserve to be written about too.

I liked it in the beginning but then it fell flat with the switch of focus. I liked how Joya unpacked mother-daughter trauma but the resolution was not realistic in my opinion.

If you're looking for a crime and psychological thriller, this is it! The Amaka Thriller series is so underrated and Leye deserves so much more recognition
