I had never been too keen to read this book, despite loving The Christmasaurus series, until the cover re-design and the custom album tie in on Spotify. After this, and seeing it pop up for free on Borrowbox, I decided to give it a try. I thought this was Tom Fletcher's debut novel, so was surprised to see William Trundle Easter eggs, but it turns out this came after. Still fun nonetheless! I find Tom's other work less endearing than The Christmasaurus, as it leans more toward the silly, childish humour and I found this was a similar case. It was just a bit too silly and childish for it to have any re-readability but that being said I'm 26, so not exactly the target audience! That being said I really enjoyed the custom 'The Creakers' album that was available on Spotify. I loved the QR codes that let you listen along as the story went, especially for Lucy's Lullaby. I also thought the story was a good way to teach children about recycling, waste and throwing things away. Overall, a fun and easy end of year read.
