i absolutely love this book. the prose is so poetic i killed like 3 highlighters because of all the quotes. another book that made me cry. the ending left me in awe. something in the universe told me i needed to read this book right now & i'm so grateful i did.

a nice concept, i just think some poems could have been revised a bit more. it's a bit cliche, but i found the emotions touching and i loved the illustrations.

i loved this book! at face value, it is a fun, childlike fantasy novel about an imaginary world created by humans' creative imaginations. on a deeper level, it touches on colonialism, systemic racism, discrimination, religion-based division, acts of selflessness, and the true definition of a hero vs. villain. i thoroughly enjoyed the adventure, the comfort of everything working out along the journey, the heartwarming friendships and loyalty from people who evolved from strangers. a few errors in terms of grammar and translation, but overall this book is absolutely wonderful.

a book about creative process and mental health/mental illness. i love the use of color in this graphic novel, how it expresses feeling and what's going on in the main character's heart. this story really shows how much people are impacted by mental illness hurting the ones they love.

beautiful writing — pain and heartbreak that you feel in your core. gorgeous ending. reminds me of a Sally Rooney book i read where “nothing happens” but you feel utterly changed by the time you finished it.
