Told from the POV of an unlikeable character; this one was more dystopian than the other books in the series which were more post-apocalyptic; I truly enjoyed this whole approach; so many twists and turns; the character deaths were unexpected and sad; the plot was wild, especially compared to the other books in the series, and l ate it up.

So incredibly sad to be done with this series 😭

Tense and emotional; loved being back in Miranda's POV from book 1 and really enjoyed the merging of the characters from the first two books but it all felt a little rushed; the overall story was really interesting and kept me engaged; it did start to lose me towards the end, with the cringey teenage love;p but I can't wait to get right in to the next book

Multiple POVs; complex and vulnerable themes: identity, race, sexuality, family, class, trauma, domestic abuse; it took awhile to get into it but it was an interesting plot with beautiful writing and amazing character development; love how the story spanned across three generations, and with such a natural flow; a very unique, impactful story

Multiple POVs and dual timeline; spooky and suspenseful; sci-fi vibes - I liked the nod to Stranger Things; a lot of red herrings; slower in some parts and it started to lose my attention in the middle but other times it was a page turner; great character development, even despite the large amount of characters; not a huge fan of the ending.

Cursed house; descent into madness; some sci-fi vibes; psychological; incredibly engaging; so creepy at times that I had to take breaks; made me second guess everything- what was real and what wasn't; interactive with some codes throughout; mixed media; reminded me a little of House of Leaves; love how the author gave breadcrumbs to put together; perfectly paced with an open ending.

Probably best to go in blind.

Suspenseful and dark; unlikeable characters; a little bit of 2nd person POV as the MC addresses her therapist; the writing was a little weird and it was pretty predictable but entertaining and gripping all the same; I would've likely enjoyed this a little more if the MC wasn't so obnoxiously whiny and naive; really enjoyed the underlying theme/topic explored

Dual timeline; reflective; satirical, dark, and dry humor regarding societal views of beauty; very random and bizarre; I feel like I didn't know what was going on for the majority of the book; the writing style and storytelling was unique; the twists were wild. This one wasn’t quite for me 😅

Dual timeline; a whodunnit murder mystery full of family secrets and betrayal; suspenseful and tense; a (SUPER) slow burn build up to a crazy ending; reminded me a lot of the original Clue movie at times; that plot twist... part of me loved it and part of me felt like it was way too out of left field- either way, it had a big impact.

Love how this book took place basically at the same time as the first book but in a completely different setting, with different characters, and from a whole different perspective/scenario; it started out boring and dry but about halfway through it picked up momentum, with a few moments of serious, nail-biting tension; some super-emotional scenes; very suspenseful and thought-provoking overall.

Intrigued to read the third book in the series.
