Ms Ice Sandwich by Mieko Kawakami

It was not what I expected. The story felt flat and boring. At the beginning I was intrigued because it starts off with ms ice sandwich feeling like an anomaly, however I feel like the writer did nothing with it. Perhaps that’s the point and I’m just missing it but ms ice sandwich felt like a sub plot opposed to everything else that was mentioned .

An amazing read our MC is a brash provactive, sexy, witty, sophisticated  killer and food critic. I was drawn to the book solely for its cover and I wasn’t disappointed. I fell in love with the stories being told and was truly  impressed with the writing. At no point did this book fall flat I was enthralled from the first page straight to the last.  I highly recommend this.
I never thought cannibalism could sound so appeasing.

I don’t even know where to start with this book. One of my favorite Booktok content creators recommended this I went in completely blind and I’m coming out dazed. Honestly I loved the beginning of the story although I had no idea what direction I was headed in I was constantly on the verge of DNFing or sticking it to the end. The gore was fine for me and I enjoyed it right until the last 12 pages, the end just felt outlandish and that says alot considering the themes of the book. I also didn’t like the portrayal of the black people, consider the author is white it felt degrading toward black people which made me uncomfortable. I’m not even sure what I want to rate this book but as I said I did enjoy it just not the parts I mentioned.

Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver

Did not finish book. Stopped at 7%.
So incredibly bad which was so surprising to me seeing all the raving views I expected so much more. It read like 2013 wattpad fiction the dialogue feels like it was written by a pre-pubescent child. I couldn’t stomach going any further with it. The name orb weaver was enough for me to put this book down. It reminded me of 2013 wattpad and Harry’s green orbs staring at me

This book was so thrilling and exciting a page turner from the moment you pick it. Everything time I thought I knew where the story was headed it threw me for a loop in the best ways possible, I was left shocked and eager to know more. The book talks about the struggles and realties that often comes with being a black person or POC in predominantly white spaces. I loved this book definitely recommend

I loved the idea of this book truly the definition of a great concept just not executed the best. A common trait with Anne Rice is that she tends to draw out unnecessary details, descriptions and dialogue that doesn't add to the main plot of the book, thus making reading the book feel labyrinthine. Nevertheless I still enjoyed the book and do recommend.

I read this book for the first time when I was 14 and now I’m reading it at 22 as I read I felt so connected to Charlie. This book is beautiful it’s heart wrenching and tells what it often feels like being a teen that’s different. This book put so much in to prospective for me and I think it’s a great book for not only teens but for those in their 20s as well.

Picked up this book in honor of season 3 approaching it was a beautiful read and I adore Julia’s writing style, she definitely has a way with words when it comes to love and desire. What I will say is that I adore the series for establishing a more fleshed out friendship between Penelope and Colin their romance feels more authentic that way. This being my only Bridgerton read I do feel like Colin doesn’t have as much charm and humor as he does in the series and tends to be a bit whiny. Nevertheless it was a good read and I do recommend.
