Ok so when this started I want really into the writing style. Like it felt low key middle school. But all that went away when the main characters started interacting with one another.

If you read hunger games and thought “ I want like 200 extra pages in this book” maybe try picking up powerless.

Literally SOOOO amazing!!!! Love that our main girls actually has power. Love that she is a murdering bad b by the end of it.

Kai has me screaming crying throwing up. Why do I love book boyfriends named Kai so much?

This was really good. The whole thing is told in these interview fashion. Every time I caught a discrepancy in the interviews I curable gasped. But honestly it was great. I came to love all the characters, well except for the true villain, in my opinion.

The plot twist of this book gutted me to my core. Love her, would read again

It was ok. The end credit scene is what really got me. Female lead was very fun .

I thought this books was sweet. A surprisingly slow burn actually. But I like that a large emphasis was put on the characters individual goals before the became a couple.

The afterword made this book though!!!! Giggling, kicking my feet at 2 am

I absolutely LOVE this book. The perfect book for all those who exist in the Venn diagram between theater kids and board game nerds— which just so happens to be me 😊.

But seriously I love everything about this book. The characters and hijinks are amazing, both of our main characters feeling true to themselves. But also the dynamic between Riley and her parents, specifically her father, is really sweet to see unfold.

I feel that Riley is perhaps me on an alternate universe where I sing better and wear more colors.

The other thing I really loved was how high school this romance was. A lot of romance books set in high school I feel are too mature and unrealistic for high schoolers. But this one feels age appropriate, even being a romance. It really goes to show that you can have a great story with fun tropes (like fake dating) but the characters don’t have to be depicted sexually.

Also the cursing is surprisingly limited in this book which I also appreciate as it allows be to recommend it with a clearer conscience to friends.

Speaking of friends, OMG I LOVED THE FRIENDS IN THIS BOOK!!!! Literally the DnD group reminds be so much of my own friend group and the characters are so well represented and distinct from one another. Sure they all love the same game but they aren’t just copy paste typical nerd. I may be stealing certain ideas to add to my own DnD campaign….

Anyway, literally fav book I’ve read all year, stars, stars, stars!!!! I 100% love and recommend this book as though it is my child that I cannot stop praising for its accomplishments. Please read, if you don’t like it, don’t tell me.
Love ya!

P.s. I understood like every game and musical this book referenced so I would just like a little credit for that, thank you very much, goodnight.

I was a little dissatisfied with the ending of the book as I would have liked to see how the family would have influenced our main couples relationship. Ultimately I enjoyed both our main characters, though the parents of the girl were insane and I feel so bad for her. Where the book really shined though on my opinion was the side characters like siblings and friends who I so enjoyed seeing tag along and just have fun lol.

Not ground breaking but I though it was sweet and really liked the friendships.

Don’t remember this book all that well because it’s been a hot sec but I do know what I loved the male lead. He was just so genuinely sweet but it was crazy how none of his family seemed to think so. Loved the switching hijinks.

I just felt sympathetic for the main character because she was so in her own head and honestly like it was so sad

Great book, didn’t love as much as the first just cause characters already knew each other but super fun and good stakes. Overall a well done sequel, here’s to hoping for a third.
