A strong first book in a series. The characters are well fleshed out, so you can understand their motives, even if you disagree with them. I accidentally spoiled the end for myself, so I can't comment too much on the twist - but I probably wouldn't have seen it coming!
You know it's a good book when the only real criticism you have is that Busted didn't debut until 2002!

This book is very well written, and I adore Lex's writing style, which was what kept me reading this.
I know that Lex's main characters are meant to be unlikeable to begin with, but I found Eddie to be frustrating throughout - there were times that I wanted to reach into the book and tell her to get a grip. I also found Nash to be such an obvious arsehole with no charm, that I couldn't understand why Eddie was so enamoured with him. This meant that the twist was underwhelming, and practically predictable.
Also, what happenedto Henry? Did he get shot, or was it just a dream?
