Cute, cozy, short. No plot, though...

Received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book was so good. A perfect mix of gore and romance (if you could put the two together, hehe). It kinda reminded me of the Mindf*ck series by S.T. Abby, which I love. If you've been looking for something similar to it, you should definitely read this!
I loved the whole revenge thing, although I wished it was more brutal and gory (check out the TWs!). Am I justifying it? Maybe... The characters and their dynamics were good. Understandable actions. But what I really want to talk about, or should I say whom, is ALEX MF WALKER. THAT MAN. OMGGGG. HE'S SUCH A RED FLAG (but red is my favorite color, so it's okay 😝❗️). He wouldn't just kill for you. He would let the world burn for you.🫢

Long story short, I'm in love, left on a cliffhanger. 😮‍💨

One summer, a couple of years ago, my mom forced me to read. Yea, forced. I hated reading-it was my worst nightmare. Ended up going to my local library (not by will, by force), and the librarian there recommends me the book. I read the first page and quit. Returned it two months later (I even had my sister come in and return it for me, in case the librarian remembered me and asked me about the book). Years went by, and I fell in love with reading. I stumble across this book on goodreads, and it looks rather familiar. I read the first page-its that book from the library! So here I am now, years later, reading the book that I once 'dismissed'.

Now to the actual book-enjoyable but a bit plain. I felt like the characters were 2D, the story slow-paced, etc. The dystopian part was okay, but rather a bit cliché. But overall, I'm glad I read it, and I will probably continue with the series.
