One thing I will always appreciate about Roxane Gay is how honest she is. She doesn't try to shy away from the truth or sugarcoat things to protect your feelings. I love her and how she challenges me and how much I always learn when I read her books <3 (she's also a fellow swimmer. slay.)

At first, I was a little put off by how low stakes this is, but I eventually loved that it's low stakes. I also love how you can tell Percy is maturing through the writing. He's growing up so fast 🥲

a sad empath looking for his manic pixie dream girl 😔

I didn't like Theo from the start and knew he had something to do with it in the middle, but I second guessed myself. I thought I was being unfair and that he was a good guy and I was judging him unfairly, but I knew. Always trust your gut with men girlies!!! A women's intuition never lies.

This is honestly a great and digestible way to learn about classic Greek myths without having to read a textbook.
