This was a fun Halloween read! It starts out as a YA novel but then it gets you to think about life, death, childhood and friendship. Make sure you read the afterward too for some fun facts. My first Bradbury and I'll definitely check out more.
I really enjoyed this book. It's semi slow but the world building is worth it. I really felt like I was there, living in the world with the characters. It beautiful, sad, hopeful and tragic all at once. Definitely check it out before the show comes out!

This book was really great! Good spooky season read, right amount of tension without being too serious. Didn't love the ending but it wasn't bad that it ruined the story.
The good parts of the book are very good, but the boring parts are SO BORING. Overall it was ok, I like how it shows that people are always the same, no matter the time or place. They're still complicated, stupid, confusing conflicted. Tolstoy could have written this today and the only difference would be cars and emails instead of horses and letters.

I liked this one a lot better than the first one. It's a lot of politics but it feels more like you're putting together all the pieces of the puzzle from the first book. I love the way Roanhorse tells the story in this one, especially for one section where you jump from being in the scene to hearing the other half retold to another character after the fact. Can't wait for the final book next year!

This was very middle of the road for me overall. Some parts were great and very compelling, others were slow, it never too boring. The ending was definitely my favorite part. I liked the quotes at the beginning of each chapter, it make it feel almost like a history book, like it's real. I liked it enough to download the second book and listen to it!
This was my first Ali Hazelwood book and I loved it! It's fun and entertaining, but it also shows the real life soap opera that is academia. Hazelwood captures the stress and struggle very well, it in a way that's not too depressing. I thought the couple were very sweet and I love the enemies to lovers trope. Overall great read.
Disclaimer I do love JVN, but this book was amazing! The chapter on grief really hit me. I loved their writing style, super conversational, it felt like we were just chatting. I learned and thought a lot while reading this book. It covers a lot of hard hitting topics but with grace and humor, without minimizing anything. Highly recommend.
