actually insane. plot twist made my jaw physically drop. seriously the most incredible high stakes fantasy ever. i swear mai corland took all my wishes for a fantasy book and put it into the most perfect blend of betrayal, real passionate romance, nail-biting tense scenes and beautiful world building. can’t recommend it enough for those who loved six of crows or lovers of high stakes dark fantasy.

“We’re going to be OK,” I repeat to him.
If things get hard again, I’ll carry him. And he’ll carry me.
And we’ll be OK.

This is a seriously incredible book, All That’s Left in the World has been one of my favourite reads this year. It had me feeling all of the emotions, my heart was RACING during the last 100 pages.
Not knowing if Jamie was going to live or die and Andrew’s reactions was super intense and had me holding my breath.

The characters were *chefs kiss*, I LOVED Cara. She was an adorable character who was quiet - but had so much depth to her. The worldbuilding was incredible too, this book being a QUEER!! post-apocalyptic book was perfect for the author’s writing style. Everything was described so insanely well, I could really picture it in my head.

If you’re looking for a book that has your heart racing, but also has you giggling and kicking your feet - this is the one. :)

“I want to get to a place where I’m ready for you,” I whisper.
“Just get to a place where you know how wonderful you are,” she whispers back. “They’re one and the same.”

This book was definitely not what I was expecting, like at all. Which turned out to be a good thing really. If i’m being honest, this was almost a 3.5 stars just because I found it really really hard to root for our main character Scottie. For most of the book (up until near the end of course) I found her to be really unlikeable, I also found that the ‘enemies to reluctant allies’ thing a bit too easy, they interacted like friends would in the beginning.

I’m saying that, I really really did love this book. I loved how beautifully in depth all the characters are,  each of them was super interesting and clearly well thought out and really well researched. I loved Irene, I thought she was an amazing character to follow. Closer to the end, Scottie grew on me. I liked her a lot after she finally matured and realised that she can’t just dismiss and use the people around her as simply tools to get over her ex. Scottie ended up being an amazing character who clearly had a lot of love and thought put into her.

I really enjoyed this book, and I seriously highly recommended it to fans of angst, enemies to lovers and sports romances. :) This author is amazing and deserves way more attention!

“You don’t know? Of course not. You don’t know what you think, what you feel, because you just let your father, or Mr. Caldwell, or society do it for you. You refuse to leave that safe little box and actually deal with anything, so you just pretend to feel nothing at all.”

This book managed to be both beautifully written, filled with hard hitting lines, topics that will make you cry -  and fun, lighthearted and full of wholesome moments that will have you giggling and kicking your feet. Lucy was an amazingly deep character, I loved reading about her difficult journey of self acceptance ; and seeing Audrey mature and realise that she can love again made me so happy.

If you think you might enjoy this book, you definitely will. Highly recommend :)
