New character brought some intrigue. But this is like watching a really long game of chess, lol. So not a new fave but I am still interested in continuing the series.

Well that took another turn or two. I now have way more questions but I am enjoying the journey.

Liked this installment a little better. Shedding more light on our characters and the Radiant tech, but only a little. You see more where things may crossover with other series, which could be frustrating for some. This is all bigger than either us, the readers, or the main characters thought.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. I appreciate how relatable Nathan is, especially in the beginning. And I also love how the story threw me several times with unexpected twists. I got halfway thinking I knew how this was most likely to go and then found out I was wrong. Then again it happened a couple of times. It's. Superhero origin story but not quite like those of the past. Definitely interested in continuing.

Holy shit! Amazing writing as always. This volume had me emotional. A lot of questions answered but a small cliffhanger ending leaves us with more questions. Mainly what's going to happen next.

This left me with mixed feelings. It starts off very urban fantasy which I love then takes a sharp left into fantasy romance, which I like if that's what I'm going in for but that was not the case here. The best friend is a character that exists for no reason but to give calypso a friend. A angry, black woman for no reason just irritated me. But the chemistry was there for the romance. The relationship was built up via flashbacks mostly. However, I did feel the chemistry in the current day. The fantasy elements were interesting and I want to learn more about where this story goes as far as the big bad. I have a lot of questions,

Did not finish book. Stopped at 65%.
I just can't. It's traumatizing. I as doing okay slowly reading and putting down. Then the flashback to a certain scene was just heartbreaking. Put me in a reading slump. I'm officially calling it.

Fave volume so far. I like that we get to see the seriousness of the issues between the East and West. Plus all the dogs were cute. It's still a very ridiculous and fun story, but the world building grounds it somewhat.
