i love this book. donna tartt is a genius. ever since i first read this book i have not stop thinking about it. it’s just that kind of book. it’s gonna leave you confused, and interpreting every detail even though you don’t know if you’re right. the whole theme of it is genius. this book is ironically so fucking funny. i love it. dark academia, gay, murder, greek mythology (?), found family (????). all things i love in a book. but also, these characters….. suck. they are,, horrible people. but that’s the point of the book. just be prepared to be pretty horrified by some things that these characters do. my one complaint is that this book is so long. it took me forever to read and somehow it’s literally 8 chapters. but very good A+ (maybe spoilers in the content warnings??????)
TAYLOR ! JENKINS ! REID ! you never miss! i love you! this book is so incredibly good and heartbreaking and just ugh words cannot explain how amazing this book is
i don’t understand why i love this book so much because i really didnt understand half of what i read but i literally am in love with this book. for no reason
this book was really good! i lovveeedddd the enemies to lovers and ofc badass woman mc. the beginning was literally amazing, breathtaking, showstopping. and then it kind of lost me in the middle but i stayed for the romance. and the ending just felt kind of off to me, but it was a happy ending so i wont complain too much. overall very good, excited to read the sequel.
Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

I LOVE THIS SERIES. (i am reviewing the whole series under the first book). this is literally my favorite series of all time. the vibes. the banter. the depth. the emotion. the plot twists. the romance. the ending. everything. perfect. amazing. i love it so so much. if i could read this book like it was the first time again i would in a heartbeat. the relationships between the characters are everything and literally this book makes me just feel. so much. makes me want to explode. there is 100% a character you can relate to no matter who you are. the writing is amazing. and again. the vibes. dark academia. magic. found family. gay. everything you could ever ask for.
this book was pretty good and i am excited to read the rest of the series. my only problem is that nothing really happened. like i was expecting so much more to be uncovered about our mystery and it was just kind of anticlimactic. but the ending was pretty shocking and i love the characters. good representation, (except for mc repeatedly misgendering the nb character?????wtf)
