The Husky & His White Cat Shizun: Erha He Ta De Bai Mao Shizun (Novel) Vol. 6 by Rou Bao Bu Chi Rou
5.0
Writing my extremely late review because life took over, and I also never recovered from this mentally.
I wake up everyday grateful Meatbun exists in this world and has managed to craft such a well thought out story.
This volume won its five stars out of sheer romance. Volume 3's crown has NOT TILTED. I really glad this is what we are given before impending doom...
I don't have much else to say because it's been two weeks. Sorry. Chu Wanning, I love you.

Straying from my traditional method of reviewing. This book is a bit different.
This was the first book I chose to read for my summer reading assignment due to how easy it looked when it came to it being lessons. I did not hate it entirely.
I find that memoir type writing can be overbearing sometimes. It's as though I'm being forced to connect with the author's experiences when they just don't apply to me.
God Never Blinks was not bad though. I found a good portion of the lessons good, just not for me at the moment. I believe this book would be great for a senior in college; someone who's nearing the end of school. I also think having some faith may help a lot of the lessons connect more.
I am no longer practicing, so this book has moments where I just do not feel as strongly as Brett does. However, it isn't a very big part of the book, which I think helps make the lessons more meaningful.
Overall, it was a simple read. Maybe I might hold these lessons closer to my heart when I'm older.

Angels Before Man by rafael nicolás
"'You're paradise to me, Michael. And you're not like the others.' Lucifer moved his hand to his friend's curls and scratched lightly at his scalp. 'Ambition in your eyes — strength and desire for more. You would be a king. When I take the Throne, you would love to sit on it with me, right? Or would you want to build an even larger one, so that we can settle it above the Most High's? You're starting to wonder it too, aren't you? What if there was no God, no Father? Only you and me, who are like Him, who together are greater than Him? We could be kings, gods.'"
"'Forgive me.' Michael's weighted gaze lifted. 'You're everything to me, the stars and the moons, the heat and the cold, the earth and the seeds, the waters and the flowers, but you are not God.'"

I don't know where to start with my review... The writing was beautiful. At times I found myself struggling slightly to follow along, but I believe the way everything was crafted did a wonderful job at getting you in the mind of Lucifer.
I liked being able to see Lucifer fall more and more; his thoughts took up the page and unnatural sentences showcased his madness (or whatever you might call it) really well.
I had initially not planned to read this when I did, but I felt the voices compelling me. I'm glad I listened. Parts of this story made me sad, happy, upset, disgusted, do a thousand yard stare. The works. I will also mention I took a two hour break because I started having an existential crisis while reading!
Reading the entire thing within 24 hours also helped me stay on top of what was happening. Hard to tell how much time truly passes up in Heaven, I guess.
Hopefully my Catholic Sunday school teacher doesn't remember me. I think she'd hate me (probably already does) for this. Welp!

This story takes too long to catch up with the prologue. Why. Why why why.
