(Contains spoilers I guess)
This book has left me completely taken away. It ends with us has shown a different side to abusive relationships. I’ve always said if this happened to me I would leave straight away and hope to god I do, but seeing Lilly in the situations and being manipulated and persuaded has really opened my eyes.

Colleen Hoover, you have my soul.
I was rooting for Ryle, I thought what happened in the past was in the past with Atlas. But you can see with my highlighting that Ryle’s parts were purple for all the nice cute moments, and then somewhere along the line everything and even the nice things he would say or do started to become green, which was for hurt. My heart hurts for Ryle whilst also hates him for hurting Lilly in the way her dad hurt her Mum. As much as this book had me destroyed I am happy with where Lilly ended up.

This book does leave me feeling like I haven’t finished it yet. As much as it was predictable it was easy to read. I found it absolutely hilarious and very flirty/ spicy. I really liked Lucy’s randomness plus it showed how comfortable she was around Josh which made me believe their love. But I also think it was stupid how she couldn’t see that Josh was just so obviously in love with her.

(Also, would love if they didn’t use the R slur)

!SPOILERS!

So much hurt and sadness from this book, it is beautifully written and really captures the attention of the reader to make us feel all the emotions. Patroclus was brave but blind. Achilles was determined but selfish. It saddens me when I think of Patroclus and how he truly would follow Achilles anywhere.. even into death. And Achilles for not putting away his pride in the moments that truly mattered. Regardless I love them and this book.

(No spoilers but bordering on)

It’s a book you love or hate and I hated it.

FirstlyI’ll start off with what I liked;
The format for one it set off with the drama and then went back in time working up till the event and then carried on from there as normal which was fun and different.
I liked how obviously in every book you don’t have to agree with the protagonist, but in this book I just really didn’t like the two mains.
I also liked how there was album to go along with the book, it made it more enjoyable.
The multiple POVs was also nice to read, always good to see two sides of the story.

For what I didn’t like;
None of the characters were making choices I would stand behind, it must have been a sign of the times for 2014.
The cheating trope is just awful, I feel so icky the whole way through, I was constantly putting myself in the other persons shoes and It was a horrible time.
The use of “slut” “bitch” “whore” or just slut shaming (women hating on women) in a written by a man tone, again very much 2014. Also shaming women for getting work done (plastic surgery), not what I wanna be reading tbh.
I don’t like how they all claim to be innocent and morally correct the whole way through, until shit hits the fan but then the characters feel justified again and it felt sour and to give the story and happy ending when it was awful what happened,
I never shipped the characters together. That’s a main part of reading a romance book: rooting for the couple, and I never did, but at the same time they were both bad so ultimately they kinda deserved each other.
Also EVERY character hated this one girl who I thought was the only reasonable one. Like putting myself in that girls shoes i’d feel the same way. Justice for her because she was my favourite. (Bridgett)

That’s about it, kinda a waste of my reading time if I’m honest. But if you like it or if it’s something you think you’d like then good for you, hope you have fun x

Honestly I wish Maybe not was the main book instead of maybe Someday. I would have 1000x preferred to read a full novel about these two characters.

Anyway it was cute and it summed them up nicely so I have nothing to complain about really. It would have gotten more stars if I didn’t read the horrendous disaster which is called Maybe Someday :)

Tbh if you bought all 3 like I did without knowing anything, skip Maybe Someday and just read this lmao

Umm I don’t know, at the start I liked it I was getting hella butterflies whilst reading, and all the giddy feelings and I was like ahhhhh!!

And then I don’t know what happened but they started to annoy me a bit, he gave me the ick cause he was leaning on EVERYTHING!!! and he seemed kinda pretentious like Cole Sprouse vibes so it kinda turned me off but if January is into that then go off I guess.

The third act drama is where it went down hill for me and the fact that they were terrible communicating with each other. I was so confused why January was acting like that because Gus clearly had stuff to sort out and January was just not patient with him like she said she’s be. She made it about herself when it was not, I don’t think either of them were ready for a relationship.

Also they read on the beach TWICE and it was raining a lot for the summer vibes to truly set it but hey that’s not really a bad thing.

Anywayyy by the end I didn’t really care how they ended up but slay.

Ps: kinda felt more energy between January and Pete lmao
