honestly, can't believe i finally finished this book. the first half definitely took me way longer than i expected but the second half made up for that :) it's a sad book, got a few tears out of me.

there were times that i got annoyed at julie, but then again, i realised that death affects us differently, so i went a little bit easier on her.

don't be like me and start this book because people kept saying it's enemies-to-lovers, it's not.

fortunately for me, though, i still enjoyed the book despite being initially disappointed that it's not really enemies-to-lovers. i absolutely love piper, she's a girly girl, and i'm absolutely here for it.

oh, what absolute cuties olive and adam are <3
tom can absolutely go fuck himself
as a healthcare student, i am so glad i understood the few instances something science-y was mentioned. i also found it funny whenever olive would poke fun at the different romance tropes, my kind of girl

to keep my peace of mind, i choose to ignore the fact that this was originally an alt-universe Reylo fanfiction

rating: 3.5
romance tropes: best friend's brother, enemies-to-lovers, age gap (10 years)
book type: standalone
point of view: 1st person, dual

it's an okay story. it's slow-paced but it's easy to read (for me, at least) so it only took me a day to finish. though, the writing is kind of comes out as pretentious at some parts, especially with the use of these random words.

the characters were infuriating at first, but then they grow on you after and i began to like them.

Thank you NetGalley, Kensington Books, and Therese Beharrie for this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This review (and finishing the book) is waaaay overdue, but anyway on to the review.

I won't lie: my expectations for this book were so low for the book.

At one point I thought that I'd leave a one-star review, but it somewhat got a tiny little bit better around the second half that I bumped it up another star. Not that much, but it's not a one-star.

The plot was promising, I liked the premise, but the actual story was disappointing. A lot of parts just kept jumping from one scene to another, it was confusing. Sometimes, I had to reread a couple times to get what's going on because it kept jumping scenes. It took me the longest time to even reach 50% because of this, but I somehow did.

The main characters (MCs) were okay. Sadly, I couldn't connect with them much.

Overall, A Ghost in Shining Armor is an okay book. Nothing much to it, pretty standard.
