I love this book it’s beautiful with such fleshed out, distinct characters, a harrowing, painfully accurate portrayal of mental illness softened gently by lighthearted, funny, human moments. Love love love!!!

This book took me a long time to read and had been written off in my did not finish list for a long time, but I recently felt that I should pick it up again. It can be a bit of a slog in parts, but reading it is certainly worth it. The book paints a very vivid portrait of depression and is painfully human in every part, which is the best part.

I do like the portrayal of OCD in this book and especially how reading those parts really does make you feel tense and trapped.

the main character is so unlikeable (she grounds herself by saying things could be worse!! she could be with her ex who liked to be choked during sex!!! ?????????????), a lot of cringey "the author envisioned this becoming a movie and wrote it in that way" moments, so many unnecessary sex scenes, cool concept but executed poorly, feel too generous giving it 0.25 but concept had so much promise and it kept me intrigued most of the time (see unnecessary sex scenes) in conclusion this is my first and last colleen hoover book
