Honestly terrible. But entertaining nonetheless.

I am so sad but this was a one star read for me.
With an added star for the cute cover.

At the same time, I have an issue with the cover. I read the Penguin UK edition, which features the graveyard with leaves. Yes fine perfect because spooky season. Right? NOPE! It is set around Christmas IN VERMOMT which means snow everywhere.

Anyway, to the story.
Cute s town book seller meets hunky big city guy to hunt ghosts with? Yes please!
But– that is the whole book. Nothing happens. Not even in a cosy low-stakes way.

I was so bored that I DNF’s at around 120 pages in. Which is after a steamy scene that did nothing for me and I bet so did nothing for the FMC and the MMC.

Sad to say that this was the second bad time I had with a book by this author.

Fun read that did not really motivate me to finish but still I enjoyed.

I especially liked the banter between Maeve and Briggs. The setting of an Irish island was great and the group of secondary characters were a joy to hang out with.

Some elements were a bit crass and raised my eyebrows somewhat. But the emotional bits weighed up to that.

The third act breakup had me rolling my eyes. The MMC believing his enemy (who hurt his best friend) and storming off? The FMC was better off without him honestly.
Still, their reunion was cute and made for a lovely ending.

Shoutout to the cute cover!!! (Though I wonder if the colours of the pubs are correct?)

3.5 stars rounded up for the Irish vibes.

Well I just had a fabulous time with this book! Big grins and feet kicking all around!

While I was sad about the lacking autumn vibes as this book was more summer to autumn, I really enjoyed getting to know Hazel and Noah!

Her grump and his sunshine worked well together and I liked the mystery element in this story (similar to book 1 in this series).
All the people of Dream Harbour are a delight and it was great to see Jeanie and Logan again.

Annie x Mac forever. Very excited about their future book as confirmed by the author!!

A really enjoyable read that kept a big smile on my face for days!

The easy cosy heartwarming soul-feeding romance between Ruby and Brochan was exactly what I needed in perpetration for my trip to Edinburgh.

Shoutout to the two MC for being “on the wrong side” of 35!!!! There is hope for us just yet! ;)

The secondary characters were fab and I have to say, this third act breakup was justified and believable and yes I am also shocked that I am writing this!

I just want my own rugged Scot that prefers rhubarb preserves to apples, is that too much to ask?!

BIG SIGH. Perhaps I also need a year in the Highlands.

(Though I would very probably be fully content just being able to sit in the background of every scene and sample each dish that was described in this book. Yum!)

Came for the cute cover, did not stay for the story. Too childish for a YA book, too many whining 12yo running around, and I was thrown off by the weird double spaced text.

Too bad, I was very ready for a cosy Gilmore Girl-esque easy “romance” read!

Enjoyable read that I was able to focus on and read in a bit longer than a day.
I liked Evan’s personality and I thought he and Stevie worked well together.

My main “issue” was that this was SUCH A THICC BOOK. After reading 300+ pages, I was still only just over the halfway point?! Gosh for a sports romance, totally not necessary, ha!

Well that took third act breakup to a whole new level…!

Too much power / money to be really enjoyable, but again, I want to know what happens in the last book.
