Het duurde toch even voor me om in het boek te komen, gezien het snel van het ene moment naar het andere sprong in het leven vd schrijfster. Maar over de helft leek het me toch een mooi, optimistisch en inspirerend boek :)

Nice angle to talk about the Trojan war and its aftermath from the perspective of 3 key female figures in this mythological story.
Slightly winding towards the end but the fast perspective changes throughout made up for it!
Curious to read more of this author!

What a beautiful piece. The parellel story lines, all framed within the historical scene of the Cypriotic conflict - a book to treasure!

Book 5 and going strong - I think the characters have become a bit more in-depth since the Pearl Sister and with this one, spirituality has gotten a bit more of a foreground role, which is always interesting to read.
Again, page-turner that makes you want to travel again (does not favour my travel blues) en a good 'switch your head off' read :)

From all the sisters described by Lucinda Riley in the previous books, I assumed I liked CeCe and Elektra the least.
Reading The Pearl Sister and Cece´s story proved me once again it does not do to judge a book by its cover.

Of the 4 sisters, I find CeCe was the most complex and layered character so far, with a big backstory and lovable ancestors to follow across the Australian plains. I loved it so much that I did not even get annoyed about the platonic love dialogues as in the previous books - but that might be because the lovestories were now more background stories and the adventure of moving to Australia and the dynamics of that time were more at the front, giving a small insights on the suppression of aboriginals when Australia´s pearl business was established.
The way Riley enters cultural research in het fiction novels is truly remarkable and makes you turn page after page!

Best one of the series so far for me - curious to dive into the next one!
