Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

I loved this book (and I'm determined to read the rest, no matter how long it takes me [damn you uni]) but I gave it 4 stars because AH books always feel a little like fanfiction to me - writing style wise. And while that isn't necessarily a bad thing, it does feel very same-y as other books out there, "twists" easy to guess, etc.
I did enjoy this more than the Twisted series overall though, and do recommend it if you're into as easy romance to read.

I'll be honest with you, it's definitely a love it or hate it type of story, and I can tell why. However, I happened to love it, flaws and all. And while I haven't given it a lower rating because of it, Score needs to realise that description and exposition don't really need to be that long (aka I feel like this book could be shorter and I'd still love it).
A great mystery and my favourite Nora Roberts novel! One of my favourite books ever!
Love the mystery and the romance and the strong woman that this is centred on. It gave me everything I wanted in a book without being kitsch, which I greatly appreciated.

I read it as an audiobook and decidedly made the decision not to read the next books (even though I own all three as paperbacks; paperbacks in which I will be giving away). Normally, I don't mind the tropes in this kind of romance, but I just never really got into it. While I wonder if it would have been better read physically, I'm not sure I really want to.

My favourite book of the year!
It took me a long minute to read it because of uni and other distractions, but this book just seemed to get better the longer I read it. Funny enough, I feel like I read this at the right time too; something I only realised by the end of it.
The story travels through all the nook and crannies you have and makes you think about love, life and grief in ways that take you back but also make you look forward. Simultaneously, I feel like I've had the best therapy session of my life.
While it definitely could have gone deeper into each character than their seemingly singular-ish traits/motivations in life, I enjoyed the growth each character experienced.
And wow do I wish Maddison had stepped up sooner but damn, I also wish him and his family were my best friends.
