The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

It's 2am and I'm crying in my bed. This book is a true masterpiece and I'm so happy I found it. I would love to express how much I loved this book, but I find myself at a loss of words, it seems like nothing that I'd say will make justice to this perfect and heartbreaking piece.

A 2.5 really.
Although there were some funny bits and it felt extremely british (thing I normally like) I didn't really like this book. I don't know what it was, but I was lacking something throughout the whole novel and I didn't feel anything when I finished it. Also, I didn't like the characters.

I'm not going to lie, I'm a bit disappointed because I'd heard such great things about this book and I was so excited to read it, but sadly, it didn't live up to my expectations.
Don't get me wrong here, I really liked the book, loved the characters and the story itself, but it just wasn't as good as I had imagined, and this, obviously, is only my fault.
All things considered, I really enjoyed this book and I might even reread it at some point.

“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
Circe by Madeline Miller
I love this book, I love Circe and I love Madeline Miller for creating such a masterpiece! As a lover of Greek mythology I really, really enjoyed this retelling of Circe. I savoured every word as if they were ambrosy or nectar, making my way through her life story, feeling what she was feeling, becoming her. Even though it could've felt slow at times, one must remember Circe had all eternity to tell her story, so why would she haste, right?

“But in a solitary life, there are rare moments when another soul dips near yours, as stars once a year brush the earth. Such a constellation was he to me.”
