one of my favorite books ever honestly, the plot was amazing i love all the twists and turns and how there was always a piece of the plan that’s not known to the reader and ends up being a shock. i also love how in-depth each character is, each and every one of them has a different drive, and they all have immersive backstories that were explored amazingly. another thing was the SHIPS. first of all, they’re all slow-burns which is amazing ?? they all have a lot of angst, and one of them even has this whole enemies-to-lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers thing going on which i loved.

this book was so good and i didn’t expect that ending at all ??? & the whole battle scene at the end had me sobbing so much. also ouch the stuff with mal and alina at the end was painful, like the rift between them growing and him not understanding her was so </3
