Picked it up as it was a fairly short book and I’ve been wanting to get back into reading. Definitely an easy read so a good choice if you are new to reading or getting back into it. It is however not the most exciting thriller and does not have much depth. Lots of loose ends and a rushed conclusion.

Obviously loved this book it’s so magical to read. Having read it at an older age though for the first time after watching all the movies, I definitely didn’t get the full experience that I know would have been a 5 star when I was younger.

Loved this book. Definitely a slow burner but in this case not a negative at all as it’s a privilege to be swept into the story telling of Towles. He creates world in which you feel safe and picking up his book is like having a piece of home with you. A beautiful story of the failures and successes in life. More for people who enjoy character development than an intense plot.

Not my favourite. An interesting concept but not executed fully. I didn’t get into this book until about chapter 5 and by 6 I could see where the author was going. A very original book however just not for me. A mixture of historic fiction and sci-fi.
