Just no.

If you - like me - sometimes think “I have been reading too many excellent books this period. I need to punish myself for it” well, this is the book for you.

Prior to reading this book I have been taking a looooong brake from Romantasy, due to SJM’s horrible HOSAB book. I have been reading literally anything else, but during the Easter holiday I needed something light, something easy and accessible. I chose Bride. And now I suffer the consequences 🥲

To be honest. The book was fine to begin with. The language was simple, but it was not supposed to be a fancy read, so I accepted it. You could sense the story was written to be popular on booktok. The tropes, the setting, the storyline. Fine fine fine. It could be whatever, and I would not have cared about any of it. It was just an easy “while i fold my laundry” read.

But then… Oh the horror. The sex.
I will not stoop to kink shaming- but I will kink sideeye very very hard 👀.
The description of the sex and the FMC need for the MCs cǔm was juvenile and made me gag multiple times. I am not a sensitive person - and I talk/act/play dirty (😏) but this was just… Tacky? Badly written? It was not for me and I would like the 11 hours of my life back.

The only plus side is that this book adds to my “read” pile 🥲
